Established in Northampton as Chowns Limited in 1884, the Chown family made their name in Northamptonshire initially building houses and schools across the country, before the business was sold to Taylor Wimpey in 1984. Following the disposal of Chowns Limited, Stephen and Simon Chown established Chown Commercial and acquired Ashby Lowery Commercial Management in 2003.
