The Sellers View...
We fell in love with 10 Halfway Houses the moment we stepped into the bright, open kitchen. It was one of those rare moments where you just know, this was going to be home. We spent every penny we had at the time to make it ours, and we’ve never once looked back. Since then, this little cottage has been the backdrop to some of the most cherished chapters of our lives. We got married here, welcomed two wonderful boys into the world, and even claimed victory at the Boxing Day games in Cookham (Its a big deal, trust us!).
One of the things that first stole our hearts was the view. Stand at the bedroom window and look out across the rolling fields, you’ll see exactly what we did on that very first day. Waking up here feels like a privilege. The sky seems to stretch endlessly, and if you’re lucky enough to be in bed early, the sunsets will take your breath away. The gardens, both front and back, are natural sun traps. Morning coffees on the back steps and sunny afternoons spent in the front garden chatting with neighbours while the boys dig away in their sandpits have become part of our daily rhythm.
Despite its peaceful, rural feel, the cottage is surprisingly well-connected. Maidenhead town centre and train station are close by, with the M4 and M40 easily accessible for commuting or weekend getaways. There’s a handy little supermarket and a parade of shops just a short walk away, while charming towns like Cookham and Marlow are only a short drive when you fancy a change of pace. Our toddler has loved the nearby parks, and our dogs have had their fair share of adventures in Pinkneys Green, Quarry Woods, and Cliveden. Just a few of the incredible walking spots on our doorstep.
This cottage has been the perfect first home and a place filled with love, laughter, and muddy footprints. The community at Halfway Houses has been nothing short of wonderful. We’ve felt supported and truly at home here. But as our boys grow, so too have our needs, and it’s time for a new family to write their own story within these walls.
We hope you’ll love it just as much as we have.
