We have lived in Egremont Drive for just over 28 happy years, it’s a good place to live as is evident by the length of time we have been here!

The house is in the Maiden Erlegh school catchment area, Kendrick school priority area 2 and Reading school catchment, Maiden Erlegh is just a short walk away. A choice of primary schools are within walking distance.

The loft room provides lots of extra space, it can be used for a home office, which it is currently, a bedroom or playroom. It works really well as an office space as is completely separate to the rest of the house, so once the door is closed you don’t need to go there again until the next working day.

We have enjoyed many sunny days in the garden, different areas of the patio get the sun at different times of the day, so excellent for family BBQs or relaxing with a good book.

Maiden Erlegh Lake and nature reserve is accessible from the end of the street. A lovely place to walk to escape and relax, it’s great for a lunchtime walk when working from home or a family weekend wander to feed the ducks. We have enjoyed community events at the Lake, an Easter treasure hunt and carols by candlelight at Christmas, there is something magical about the candlelight and the singing reflecting around the Lake.

All of our children have played for Laurel Park Football club and our Grandson has just signed up too, it’s a good community focused club, again walkable from the house.

The local doctors, opticians and dentist are all just a 5 minute walk away.

Good public transport links available with trains to Reading or London Waterloo available from Earley train station, just a 20 minute walk away and there are also bus stops on Rushey Way and Gipsy Lane to take you to Reading.

We have an Egremont Drive WhatsApp group which started to support neighbours during covid but has continued and we held a street party for the Kings Coronation. The group is a great way to welcome new neighbours to the street.

Our neighbours are a friendly bunch, taking in parcels and keeping an eye on the house while you are away. Washing the car can be a long job as there is usually lots of chatting!

It’s time for us to move on and make new memories elsewhere. We wish the new owners the best of luck in their new home.
