Separate from the main house is a bespoke home office, and exceptional storage.

Scenic walks are literally on the doorstep, with the South West Coast Path heading west past the sheltered Meadfoot Beach to Torquay sea front, or northerly to Ansteys Cove, Walls Hill and Babbacombe Bay. Nearby Wellswood provides a ‘village’ ambiance with array of shops, restaurant, pub, highly regarded Ilsham Primary School and well supported St Matthias Church. Torquay’s bustling Harbour and Marina provide vibrant waterside bars, restaurant, and deep water mooring facilities, with the sea front promenade passing the Princess Theatre toward Torre Abbey Sands beach.

Owners Insight

"Reflecting on our busy work lives we took the opportunity to have a lifestyle change and moved down to Torquay in 2021. As soon as our family saw the house, we knew it would be our home, and it was not just the contemporary interior, versatile layout, beautiful garden, and of course panoramic views which attracted us, but the location. We still have to pinch ourselves having the South West coast paths on the doorstep, selection of beaches nearby, and the shops at Wellswood a short walk walk up the valley.

The only reason we are now moving is the house is simply too big, and soon to be just the two of us. We will be staying local, hopefully still within Wellswood."

Step Inside

An impressive contemporary entrance door sets the scene to the fine home, leading you through to the reception hall with elegant tiled floor, window over the front and access to the garaging. Cloakroom with rustic circular basin. The principal open plan reception space is bathed in natural light from two windows with plantation shutters overlooking the front garden, and patio doors with side windows linking the extensive decked balcony with glass and brushed steel balustrade from where the beautiful views over the wooded Ilsham Valley are best enjoyed, looking sideways to the sea. A breakfast bar links the living area to the kitchen providing ample room for stools and storage. Sleek white units to the kitchen are topped with solid black granite, a circular sink, and picture window framing the beautiful valley views. Built-in Bosch oven and grill, Samsung hob with extractor, integrated dishwasher, provisions for American fridge/freezer. A cosy study/bed 5 is used as a cinema room.

Garden Level

From the Reception Hall a stylish turned staircase with glass and brushed steel descends to the garden level. Further lower terrace with central steps leading to the circular patio with central compass motif and decked terrace to the corner, bespoke barbecue station, and timber summerhouse with Mediterranean style tiled flooring. The garden is fully enclosed with fenced and hedged boundaries.
