We fell in love with our home when we walked into the big open plan living area and straight out through the bi-folding doors into the garden. We knew we would enjoy spending time here as a family in the winter and summer. Another wow moment was the clubhouse outside with the minibar (and now under-floor heating). We decided not to call it a games room as it’s been a play room, bar, party room, gym... Anything we want it to be.

We’ve hosted some great parties and gatherings, inside and out – summer barbeques and winter curry and quiz nights being favourites. Being able to get 6 cars on the drive helps. We are moving abroad to sunnier climes and if we could pick up our house and take it with us we would.

We wanted a village location but achieving that whilst being close to everything sealed the deal. On your doorstep you have a woodland and acres of orchards for walking and taking dogs out, a newly refurbished park for children, the train station a few minutes’ walk for easy access to London and shops and other amenities all close by.

Living there has made our lives both easy and enjoyable – it’s incredibly functional. I use the fourth bedroom as an office to work from home and the integral garage is a complete gym. We converted the downstairs bathroom into a wet room with under-floor heating so you can shower down muddy dogs or kids! Toys and games live in the Clubhouse and there are three loft spaces and lots of built in storage. I almost forgot the second living room which is handy to avoid arguments around who is watching what on TV – you can shut the doors and have a bit of me time. Our home just works really well and whoever hangs their coat there will be lucky.
