Extensive recent renovation
Perfectly positioned just moments from Marlow High Street, this beautifully updated five-bedroom Victorian home offers a seamless blend of period charm and contemporary living. Set across three thoughtfully designed floors, the property has undergone extensive recent improvements including rewiring, replumbing, new windows and the reconfiguration of the top floor. The end results is a home that feels both characterful and effortlessly modern.
The ground floor has been designed for both relaxation and entertaining. A bay-fronted sitting room with fireplace and wood-burning stove creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere, while the adjoining family room opens directly into a superb bespoke kitchen. Finished with granite worktops, a range-style cooker and custom cabinetry, this light-filled space leads through double doors to the west-facing garden, perfect for alfresco dining and long summer evenings.
Across the upper floors are five beautifully presented bedrooms. The first floor hosts the elegant principal bedroom suite with fitted wardrobes and contemporary ensuite, along with two further bedrooms and a stylish family bathroom. The top floor has been cleverly redesigned to create two generous bedrooms linked by a Jack & Jill cloakroom, ideal for children, guests or home working.
To the rear, a west-facing garden catches the best of the afternoon sun. A flagstone path and patio lead to a low-maintenance lawn framed by mature planting and brick walling. A rear gate provides direct access to the property’s private parking space and garage, an asset for a home so close to the town centre. The front garden, with wrought-iron gate and established greenery, adds further charm.
The Location
Station Rise is one of Marlow’s most sought-after residential streets: Peaceful yet brilliantly central. The High Street, River Thames and Marlow station are all within an easy stroll, offering a superb lifestyle with a variety of shops, cafés, restaurants and green spaces on the doorstep. For commuters, fast connections to London via Maidenhead and the Elizabeth Line make the location as practical as it is desirable.
The owner stated
What first drew me to this house were the high ceilings, the Victorian features and the brilliant layout with three good-sized bedrooms on the first floor. I rebuilt the loft rooms, replaced the roof and completely renovated the whole house. Everything from rewiring and replumbing to new insulation, glazing and flooring. So, behind the Victorian façade it’s essentially a brand-new home.
I love the cosy front sitting room with its big sash windows and log burner, and the amazing storage in the bedrooms. The garage has been invaluable, and the location has given us such an easy, walk-everywhere lifestyle, perfect for raising my children and for enjoying Marlow’s cafés, restaurants and the park.
It’s a friendly, safe street with a strong sense of community. I will miss being so close to friends and the High Street, and I will miss this home deeply; I renovated it with a lot of love.
