"We have lived here for over 20 years and will be sad to leave! We’ve really enjoyed living in such a character-filled home and have tried to update it thoughtfully taking into account its age. It’s such a great location being rural, surrounded by fields and still well connected with everything you need nearby. We’ve enjoyed so many country walks from the front door usually ending with a drink in the fantastic Wheelwrights Arms just a stone’s throw away! We’ve been really lucky to have this at the end of the road – a classic country pub with a great atmosphere and best of all, no one needs to drive! In fact Hurst is not short of pubs and all of which serve great food. Dinton Pastures is just over the road which has been fantastic for the kids with its huge playground and activity centre, has beautiful lake walks and hosts popular events such as Marvellous festival and Parkrun. Winnersh train station is about 15 minutes walk which has been really useful for trips to London or Reading when you don’t want to drive but if you do, the M4 is also just a 5 minute drive away. There are walkable preschools, primary and secondary schools in Winnersh and a great village school in Hurst which our kids were really happy at. The community is great – the cricket club and bar, the annual Hurst Show and Hurst Horticultural Show are just a few things that make this such a welcoming place to live."

Set in the highly sought-after village of Hurst, Wokingham, this beautiful Edwardian character home dating back to 1903 perfectly blends period charm with modern living. Overlooking peaceful farmland, it is rare to find a property that retains so many original features while also offering a stylish and contemporary finish throughout.
The home follows the classic Edwardian “two up, two down” layout, offering well-proportioned and versatile living spaces. Upon entering, you are welcomed into a generous dining room, complete with striking exposed brickwork and a feature fireplace, creating an immediate sense of character and warmth.
Towards the rear of the property, the home opens into a spacious and airy living room, an inviting space that flows seamlessly into the modern galley-style kitchen. The kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to complement the age of the property while offering the practicality and style expected in a modern home.
Upstairs, the property continues to impress. The master bedroom is a fantastic size and benefits from two separate built-in wardrobes along with a charming feature fireplace, adding to the home’s period appeal. Unlike many homes of this era, the bathroom is conveniently located on the first floor and has been tastefully updated. It features a modern three-piece suite including a sink, WC and a stunning stand-alone bathtub, which serves as a real focal point of the room.
A particular highlight is the second bedroom, which provides access to the converted loft space. This additional area is impressively spacious, fitted with Velux windows that flood the room with natural light, and offers useful eaves storage, making it ideal as a home office, hobby space or occasional guest area.
Externally, the property is just as impressive. The home benefits from a driveway, garage, front garden and a generous rear garden. The rear garden has been designed for both relaxation and entertaining, featuring decking, a patio area and two garden sheds, providing plenty of outdoor space and storage.
The location is excellent, placing you within easy reach of some fantastic local amenities. The ever-popular Wheelwright's Arms pub, Dinton Pastures Country Park, and Winnersh train station are all on your doorstep. The area also offers a wide selection of highly regarded schools, making it ideal for families. Additionally, you are just a short drive from the town centres of Twyford, Wokingham and Woodley, offering a variety of shops, restaurants and transport links.
Great home, fantastic location, and a wonderful opportunity for the next owner.
