The Building

Described in a contemporary brochure as “a new building of the most modern, central and economical [...] specifically designed for business and professional people”, Trinity Court was built between 1934 and 1935 using a steel-frame construction and a distinctive white render. Strikingly symmetrical, each apartment in the block has its own balcony with the railings and Crittall window frames painted externally in a playful shade of blue. Despite its period distinction, it remains unlisted.

The Tour

Original art deco features run throughout the building's communal spaces. Last refurbished in 2013, its period feel has been preserved and sympathetically enhanced. The two original 'birdcage' lifts are still in place - these were used in a celebrated fight sequence in Neil Jordan's 1986 film 'Mona Lisa'.

The Area

The Brunswick Centre has a variety of shops, a Curzon Cinema, and a large Waitrose supermarket.

Lamb's Conduit Street is close by, and is home to the renowned Noble Rot, Honey and Co. And Ciao Bella as well as a host of fashionable shops. The restaurants and bars of Clerkenwell, Exmouth Market, Covent Garden and Soho are all within walking distance too, as are the colleges, institutes and hospitals of the University of London.
