Particularly handsome, listed Grade II Georgian village house with a splendid, converted stables in delightful mature gardens of about 1 acre.

Description
Yew House is a charming property with attractive brick elevations in a Flemish bond under a tiled roof. Built in the late 18th century with a mid-19th century extension to the east, Yew House is listed Grade II as being of architectural or historical interest. The house has undergone a sympathetic and comprehensive renovation in the last few years with complete renewal of all electrical, plumbing and heating services and many other works. It now provides spacious, light accommodation over two floors with great style and some beautifully proportioned rooms, many with original period features. The elegant porch opens into a flag stoned reception hall with a fine staircase and tall fan light window. To the west is a cosy sitting room with fireplace and wood stove; beyond the sitting room is a good size conservatory. East of the hall is a splendid drawing room, also with a wood stove, and beyond that an elegant dining room with high ceiling and fireplace. A rear hall with stone floor and cloakroom links the main rooms to the eastern wing incorporating a well-fitted kitchen with dining area and a particularly nice ‘atrium’ style reception room with historic deep well with armoured glass cover. Beyond is a useful utility room, pantry, wine cellar and cloakroom with shower. Steps up from here lead to a spacious home office with vaulted ceiling and internal access to the garage and stables.

On the first floor is the principal bedroom with en suite shower room, a further double bedroom with en suite bathroom, two further bedrooms, each with access to their own shower room and an accessible boarded attic above.
The stables

Adjacent to the main house are the old stables built in 1868, now providing outstanding ancillary accommodation over two floors. The property has been cleverly converted to provide a superb two bedroom independent cottage retaining many original features including exposed timbers and brickwork, wood panelling and one of the original old stalls. A double height gallery, ensures the reception space is flooded with light.
Outside

An entrance drive with brick pillars provides parking and leads to the double garage which is of brick and flint under a slate roof. A further gravelled area of parking is available at the front of the house. A wrought iron gate set within a mature Yew hedge, for which the house is renowned, opens on to a gravelled pathway leading to the front door and entrance porch. Wisteria and honeysuckle on the front elevation blend with the attractive Flemish bond brickwork to marvellous effect. In front of the house is a level lawn and low hedge and beyond the conservatory at the side is a wide area of lawn with some attractive trees, log stores and garden shed. Behind the house are a series of terraces with steps leading up to the top section of the terrace garden where there is a lawn, attractive pergola and fruit trees. Further steps lead up to the very top section of the garden which is enclosed by hedging and has an attractive avenue of Whitebeam trees on the former grass tennis court, a summerhouse and lovely views over fields to countryside beyond. Adjacent are the kitchen garden, fruit cages and substantial tool shed with mains electricity and water. In all the property extends in total to about 1 acre.
