Set on the ground floor of an attractive Victorian terrace in leafy Canonbury, this one-bedroom flat makes a confident first impression. The building has clearly been well cared for, and that same sense of stewardship carries through the home itself. A south-facing reception room sits to the front, where light pours through the bay and original wooden shutters frame the view. An original fireplace, cornicing, hardwood floors and generous shelving all rest comfortably and give the space its sense of heritage.
To the rear, the mood gently shifts. A terracotta-toned kitchen brings the glow of Mediterranean warmth, with a separate utility area keeping things practical and out of sight. Both open onto the garden, where a patio, lawn and a stretch of decking invite long summer evenings and slow, coffee-first mornings. A neatly positioned corner shed makes smart use of space - useful without getting in the way.
From here, weekends tend to fill themselves. Put together an impromptu spread from La Fromagerie, book in at Perilla, or settle into a Sunday at The Snooty Fox. With excellent transport links nearby, the rest of London is always within easy reach too.
The owner says
This has been the most awesome home for the last 15 years. With its bright living room and huge garden - it was love at first sight. I've lived here on my own, with flatmates and, more recently, with my partner and child, and it's always been special. Whether you're having a spontaneous garden party or a cosy time around the fireplace, it's the perfect space for entertaining or zenning out. The garden is bathed in sunlight and very tranquil; we spend our evenings and mealtimes there every day in spring and summer.
This is one of the best places you could live. Our neighbourhood has Michelin-starred restaurants, one of London's best parks and brilliant boozers, and everything else that London has to offer is just minutes away by tube, bus or overground. We don't want to leave! But our family has grown and, alas, we need more space. While i'm sad to say goodbye, it makes me happy that someone new will enjoy this incredible home.
