Charming period cottage in this sought after hamlet, set within the beautiful Isle of Purbeck countryside.

Description
A charming period cottage having most appealing elevations of the local Purbeck stone under a mainly stone and partly slate roof. Willow Cottage has been the subject of considerable improvement and extension by the current owners over the last 20 years. The attractively presented accommodation has the benefit of oil-fired central heating with period style radiators, double glazing, a modern fitted kitchen with Raeburn, ground and first floor bath/ shower rooms, and a useful en suite cloakroom. A modern detached outbuilding provides the utility room, a workshop/ store and a cloakroom. This could offer potential to convert to provide further accommodation, subject of course to any necessary permissions being obtained.

The front door opens into an entrance porch for coat hanging, and then into the sitting room. This features a handsome stone inglenook fireplace with heavy beam over, log burner and former bread oven, double aspect windows look across both front and rear gardens, and there are two understairs store cupboards. The large through kitchen/ dining room is fitted with a good range of units with butcher’s block work surfaces, including a Belfast sink, glazed fronted china cabinets, Smeg freestanding fridge, and a dishwasher. An oil fired Raeburn which provides cooking, central heating and hot water is set into a stone fireplace recess with beam over. Windows overlook both front and rear gardens and a door opens onto the large rear terrace. Also on the ground floor are the characterful third bedroom with vaulted ceiling and a stone feature wall, and the ground floor bathroom which doubles as the cloakroom. This has a period style suite of freestanding claw foot bath, basin and WC.

On the first floor are the main bedroom with double aspect windows and fine far-reaching views, the second bedroom with similar views plus a useful en suite cloakroom, and the family shower room, with half tongue and groove panelled walls, glazed double shower, basin, and WC. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes

Most rooms in the cottage enjoy beautiful views across the gardens, and the stunning surrounding Purbeck countryside beyond.

Outside
The cottage is approached along a quiet unmade lane, with open fields to both front and rear. A driveway at the front provides parking for two large 4x4’s, and in addition there are three further parking spaces accessed from the opposite side of the lane. The modern detached outbuilding has an insulated and pitched roof, and provides a utility room with plumbing and space for washer and dryer, a cloakroom with basin and WC, and a store room. The delightful gardens extend to around 0.62 acres and have been laid mainly to lawn for ease of maintenance with established beech hedges at the sides. There is an impressive hand laid dry stone wall along the front boundary, with stone pathways leading to the front door and around both sides of the cottage. At the rear of the cottage is a generous paved terrace perfect for outdoor entertaining and dining, enjoying a stunning westerly aspect across open countryside. At the end of the garden is an orchard area with fruit trees.
