When we first came to view Howick in 2015, we were looking for a home where our growing family could put down roots. The moment we saw the charming white bungalow and its beautiful, generous garden, we knew it was something special.

At the time, the house belonged to a lovely elderly couple who had cared for it with great warmth and thoughtfulness. Their touches gave the home so much character, and while it suited their lifestyle perfectly, we could also see the wonderful potential to shape it into a home for our family of four.

Our youngest daughter, Hallie, was just two years old when we moved in, and from the very beginning, the garden became her little world. It has been the backdrop to so many happy family moments over the years.

In 2018, we carried out a significant extension and renovation to open the house up towards the garden, creating the kitchen, dining and living space where we have spent most of our time together. It is the true heart of the home - full of light, warmth and connection. My own favourite spot has always been the cosy corner by the wood-burning fireplace, especially on colder evenings.

One of the things we have always loved most about Howick is how peaceful it feels. Although it sits on a main road, once you are inside - especially in the living space and garden - the outside world seems to melt away. It feels calm, private and surprisingly tranquil.

Howick also offers so much scope for the next owners to make it their own, while still preserving all the charm that makes it so special. We had plans to create an additional bedroom in the loft, and some preparatory work has already been done, leaving a wonderful opportunity for future owners to build on what is already here.

We have also been incredibly lucky with our neighbours, who have been kind, welcoming and genuinely lovely. Over the years, we have shared many chats, meals and drinks over the fence - the sort of simple moments that make a house feel like home.

Howick has given us so many treasured memories, and it is a place we will always hold close to our hearts. We truly hope its next owners will love it as much as we have, and create many happy memories of their own here.

Simply put, this place is really cool! We have a deceptively spacious, detached bungalow offering a huge amount of very versatile space. For those commuting, Junction 12 of the M4 is just a 5-minute drive away, providing easy access to London and the West. There's also plenty of nearby countryside walks offer a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle.
