Description
5 Abbey Road is a charming stone built, semi detached miner’s cottage dating from around 1880, enjoying a superb central position at the west end of North Berwick High Street. The property combines period character with a highly convenient location close to local amenities and the town centre.
The cottage has an attractive traditional frontage with a paved pathway leading to the front door. On entering, a welcoming hallway leads through to an inviting dual aspect kitchen and dining room. This bright and sociable space enjoys views over the front garden and benefits from a stable door providing direct access to the shared rear gardens.
The kitchen is fitted with a range of floor and wall mounted units and incorporates a five ring gas hob, built in electric oven, fridge freezer and washing machine. The adjoining dining area offers ample space for a good sized table, with additional storage provided by a traditional built in press.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a generous sitting room featuring a wooden fire surround with living flame gas fire, creating a comfortable and characterful living space.
The first floor offers two well proportioned double bedrooms, both with built in storage. The principal bedroom benefits from an en suite shower room, while a separate bathroom is located off the landing adjacent to the second bedroom, which enjoys views over the rear gardens.
Externally, the fully enclosed shared gardens wrap around the rear of the property and provide a pleasant area for outdoor seating as well as a useful drying area. The gardens can be accessed directly from the kitchen via a short flight of steps or via gated access to a gravelled driveway at the side of the property. Shared brick built stores for bins are also located to the side of the house.
