About this property

  • Roof terrace

Cool, comfortable and chain free Victorian two double bedroom purpose-built maisonette of 1130 square feet (excluding the massive loft), delivered over first and second floors, with your own front door (at ground floor level), a Freehold-share, and a private sunny roof terrace.

Your new pad has a semi-detached/corner setting, with just one property below, and is close to Myatt’s Fields (Victorian) Park plus it's pretty surrounding conservation areas.

You have three Fare Zone 2 stations at your feet in 15 minutes: Denmark Hill, Loughborough Junction and Oval (the latter for the tube/Northern line). You can also alight many a central-bound bus from nearby Camberwell New Road – with its beautiful Georgian architecture to admire on the journey.

This place has buckets of character, as well as plenty of windows, high ceilings, a favoured east-west orientation (enjoy loads of light throughout, throughout the day) and well-considered built-in storage. Permit-parking just outside keeps things simple.

Your front door is at the side of the building. Once in you take the stairs up. You will first find a windowed and modern bathroom with white suite and concealed plumbing, brick-style ceramic tiling, and an over bath shower (plus separate spray attachment).

From the landing, take a right into your large eat-in kitchen, of over 13 feet by over 13 feet. Quarry tiles are underfoot. Your kitchen units are free-standing in style. You also have alcove shelving and a pretty original feature fireplace.

You are open-plan (by design not compromise) to the massive reception room which is over 19 feet (the width of the building) by over 13 feet. A dream for entertaining. Here, you have another charmer of a fireplace, and stripped, painted boards to the floor. Two west-facing sash windows and bespoke alcove storage further feature.

You have a similar pleasingly-large footprint on floor two, with your low-maintenance roof terrace atop the bathroom (access it at half-landing level on ascent to the second floor).

Your principal bedroom has pale carpet to the floor, and a neutral hue to the walls. It us a notably generous double (over 18 feet by over 13); you can go supersized with your furniture!

Adjacent is the second double bedroom of 13 feet by 13 feet, which is fitted out with a big bank of built-in wardrobes to its northerly wall.

There is more storage (a large cupboard) on the landing, and here you can also access the big loft (which is excellent for further storage, and could also be a future extension project with relevant permissions being obtained).

You are pleasingly-close to Camberwell’s arty town centre with an effortlessly-chill scene with eateries and drinkeries galore.

We like The Bear (your most local local, with great small plates and vinyl), The Camberwell Arms, The Kerfield Arms, Hermits Cave, Silk Road, Veraison Wines, Little Cellars and Theo’s, in particular. There are also loads of cosy cafes alongside handy high street shops and banks, and a Morrisons supermarket etc. For luxury groceries, Gladwell’s is your go-to. Camberwell Lanes is one to watch for the future.

Coldharbour Lane (the big road up to Brixton) is also close for more options: We rate Three Eight Four for happy hour cocktails and small plates, Nanban for tasty Japanese/Brixton fusion food, and Mamma Dough for sourdough pizzas paired with craft beers. And the foodie options at Brixton Village (street food heaven and more) are fabulous, too.

You are wonderfully well-positioned to enjoy glorious Myatt’s Fields Park with bandstand, tennis courts and impressive floral displays, plus weekly Farmers’ Market. There is another of those on Camberwell Green (near Camberwell Library) as well. Ruskin Park is close, too.

Camberwell has a Puregym and a good leisure centre on Artichoke Place, plus Zen Yoga Studio and Butterfly Tennis Club at the bottom of beautiful Camberwell Grove.

The centres of Brixton, Herne HIll and Peckham are also easily reached via bus, foot or cycle.
