About this property
Private garden
A big, bright and mightily delightful two double bedroom second (top) floor purpose-built apartment of 704 square feet, with its own generous and sunny garden section (accessed at ground floor level), complete with raised beds and your own shed. The building’s roof is new and the windows were also recently replaced. Chain free.
Find your new pad on a quiet street. It is a notably leafy spot (they don’t call it ‘Forest Hill’ for nothin’!), just an eight minute stroll from Forest Hill Station and its friendly town centre. There is unrestricted parking, on-street.
In the main front door and take the stairs to your own front door. From your welcoming hall, your reception is straight ahead. This is over 15 feet by over 11 feet. We love the parquet flooring plus feature fireplace. As throughout, windows are double-glazed.
Moving through your corridor, on your right you have your independent kitchen with your white fitted units in a u-shape. Recessed lights and square wall tiles injecting colour to the room are further welcome features.
Next along the hall is a built-in cupboard then you have your windowed bathroom. This is beautifully fitted-out, with gorgeous traditional-style sanitaryware (including the freestanding roll-top bath) and fittings. Metro-tiling to the walls further impresses. Smart hexagonal tiles grace the floor.
Across the hall is your principal bedroom. This is over 12 feet by over 11 feet. Two built-in cupboards keep matters tidy. Parquet flooring keeps the smiles going.
Lastly you have your second bedroom, of over 12 feet by over 8 feet, in a pretty pink hue.
Finally, we should mention (being at the top of the building) you have attic access, for storage.
What a pad and what a position! Forest Hill Station (Fare Zone 3) gives you regular rail and Windrush line services so all commutes or social plans are an utter cinch. There are loads of useful bus routes into and out of London town, too.
Our favourite local green spaces are Horniman Gardens (check out the museum plus snazzy new cafe here, too!) and Mayow Park. Devonshire Road Nature Reserve is fab, too. Venture a little further for others like Crystal Palace Park, Hilly Fields and Dulwich Park.
Forest Hill has a buzzy and friendly centre, with a good modern leisure centre with retained Victorian façade, a large Sainsbury’s store, and loads of pleasing independent offerings; including a butcher/deli and lots of cafes (the best is St David Coffee House).
Your local pub: The Foresters Arms (Fauna Brewing) is under fairly new management and is proving popular. The Sylvan Post is a local quirky real ale place with good food in an old Post Office, on Dartmouth Road. Big Cheeks Thai also comes recommended, and there are some cute places (like The Moustache and Journey Cafe) in nearby Upper Sydenham (by the Kirkdale roundabout).
East Dulwich's Lordship Lane, Peckham and Camberwell are all also easily reached for more options.
