Set on a tree-lined road, this two-bedroom flat occupies the top floors of an Edwardian conversion. The entrance stairway leads up to the main living space, where the home opens into a bright, sociable room. A pair of sash windows to the front and glazed doors to a terrace at the back draw light from both directions, giving the open-plan layout a fluid feel. The kitchen strikes a pleasing balance: Contemporary and practical, but entirely at ease with the building’s period character.
Upstairs, the loft has been thoughtfully shaped into two bedrooms beneath double dormer extensions. Wide windows bring in plenty of daylight, while built-in storage on the landing and in the bedrooms keeps things uncluttered. It’s a home that makes clever use of every inch without ever feeling overly arranged.
The neighbourhood has that enviable mix of convenience and character. The Faltering Fullback and The Robin are both close by. And Stroud Green offers local favourites, including Tollington’s and the Picturehouse cinema, while Jolene is on nearby Hornsey Road. Finsbury Park station's a 10-minute walk, keeping the rest of London within easy reach.
The owners say
We have loved our six years on Moray Road. The open-plan setup makes the flat feel so spacious and has allowed for many lively gatherings of friends and family. In the summer, the terrace is the perfect way to spend a sunny evening. The wb Yeats pub at the end of the road has become a regular meeting spot with friends and has a real community feel. All the vibrant food offerings of Stroud Green are just a stone’s throw away; we can be sat at one of our favourite spots having anything from dosas to ramen, or shawarma or freshly made pasta within minutes of leaving the front door.
We have strolled almost daily along the Parkland Walk or around Finsbury Park, which is lively on the weekends with the parkrun and farmers market. Longer walks have taken us to Hampstead Heath, Alexandra Palace or Highbury Fields. At the same time, you can pop to Oxford Circus in 20 minutes, which is ideal for commuting or a trip to the theatre. It feels like the best that London has to offer.
