This four-bedroom, Victorian house makes a strong first impression, with its distinctive pointed roofline and handsome proportions. The current owners have updated it, yet haven't sacrificed its character in pursuit of modernity. Double reception rooms, separated by original dividing doors, offer flexibility without losing flow, while matching fireplaces anchor each space. The kitchen stretches generously at the back, with plenty of room for cooking, eating and lingering over a second coffee. Large windows keep the garden in view and daylight moving through the space.
Upstairs, the period story continues. The principal bedroom has fireplaces, sash windows and exposed floorboards, while two further bedrooms strike a good balance between old bones and modern life. The second floor is home to a bright fourth bedroom and neighbouring shower room - ideal for guests, teenagers or anyone seeking a little separation. An unusual angular nook, shaped by the building's architecture and ending in an original lancet window, lends the room a distinctive charm. Back downstairs, a cellar and utility area handle the practicalities, while the garden offers a welcome patch of controlled wilderness.
Whitehall Park remains one of north London's most coveted pockets, prized for its remarkable sense of tranquillity. Despite its proximity to the city, the neighbourhood feels almost village-like, with quiet, leafy streets, mature gardens and an unmistakable sense of retreat. It's this combination of calm, character and connection that makes Whitehall Park such a special place to call home.
The owners say
Dresden Road is a genuinely lovely place to live. We have wonderful neighbours who are always willing to help out (even when being hollered at over the fence by a seven year old!), a fantastic bakery just round the corner, and it's only 10 or so minutes to the tube, yet so leafy and quiet.
The trees are a highlight; spring and autumn are quite something. Some of them are genuinely unusual - so much so, there’s a book written about them. The house itself is also pretty special, as you can see, and we will genuinely miss it. If we could take it with us we would!
