Introduction & Exterior

Available with No Upward Chain, this fabulously extended family home in Brereton will suit families looking for lots of reception space, a large open kitchen and a vast garden. The property is set back from St Michaels Road holding a slightly elevated position behind a full width bock-paved driveway that provides comfortable parking for three cars. Viewers will note the bin store to the left as well as a log store in front of the house, the latter being a hint to a brilliant feature found in the lounge.

At the rear of the house is an impressive, long rear garden. At the beginning of the garden is a patio comprising of block paving and slabbing, with a short brick wall and attractive shrubbery between. From the patio it continues into a vast expanse of lawn that continues to the far end where there are two wooden sheds and another shrubbery patch. Wooden fencing is erected to the boundaries.

Ground Floor

Viewers enter the home through a modern composite front door directly into a welcoming hallway that has plenty of space for guests to remove coats and shoes. The hallway moves from left to right along the front of the house with doors opening to the lounge, dining room and a handy store room. The store room has a row of units fitted along the back wall and could be a great space for a utility / laundry room for the new buyers. The staircase to the first floor is positioned against the front wall with a window above and beneath to provide natural light. All exterior doors and windows feature double-glazing.

At the far end of the hallway is the lounge. This was originally a brilliant sized room and is now even better for families as it has the addition of a dining room (currently a playroom) added by via extension to the rear. The dining room has a skylight as well as window looking out to the garden patio. Back in the main lounge, the main focal point is a glorious log burner fireplace set into the original chimney breast. A large bowed window is positioned at the front of the lounge helping keep this a lovely bright reception room.

The largest room in the house is the magnificent kitchen. The rear part of the kitchen is extended as also features a skylight. With the kitchen being extended further that the dining room, a window has been included to the side, as well as the rear to improve the natural light. The kitchen features an abundance of wall and base mounted units fitted mainly to the left and rear of the room with a large range oven in place to the right hand side. Clear spaces with plumbing are available for a washing machine and dishwasher. As well as the hallway, exits from the kitchen are available to the dining room and outside to the garden patio.

First Floor

Guest arrive at the top of the staircase to a corridor landing from right to left that provides access to all three bedrooms and the family bathroom. There is also a deep airing cupboard housing the central heating combi-boiler, and a hatch above to access the insulated loft space.

The three bedrooms are all generous, comprising of two good-sized doubles and a brilliant single bedroom. Both doubles are positioned at the rear of the house and therefore have a terrific view over the rear garden. Bedroom One also has access to a store cupboard and has a recess perfect for a wardrobe to be positioned.

The family bathroom features a pleasant suite comprising of a bath with electric shower and a retractable screen, wash basin atop a cabinet, toilet, and a chrome heated towel rail. Decorative glossy red and cream tiles are applied to entire wall space with wood effect lino laid to the floor.

Transport links

St Michaels Road branches from Main Road (former A51) passing through Brereton which makes it easy for journeys to Lichfield, and through Rugeley towards Stafford and Stoke on Trent.

The nearest Train Stations to the property are Rugeley Town and Rugeley Trent Valley. Both stations are on the Chase Line and offer services to Birmingham New Street. Rugeley Trent Valley is also on the West Coat Main Line and therefore offers services to London through Lichfield and Tamworth, and Liverpool through Stafford and Crewe.

Plenty of bus services are available from Main Road stopping at Rugeley Town Centre where there are services to many other local destinations.

Schools & amenities

Parents will be delighted to learn that Redbrook Hayes Community Primary Academy is within close walking distance, just 0.3 miles away. The catchment high school isn’t listed and we understand this is due to the recently opened John Taylor Rugeley. Catchment will likely be here or at the Hart school, with both being around a mile from this home. We must advise that parents make their own enquiries to this and the school catchment.

Brereton is right on the edge of Cannock Chase and this provides an excellent area for walking, cycling, horse riding and running, amongst many other activities.

The nearest convenience store is beside a Fish & Chip shop at the entrance to St Michaels Road, which is an easy walk for those able to do so. Plenty of other local stores and a petrol station are nearby in Brereton. The town centre of Rugeley has a range of independent and well known stores and restaurants. Supermarkets in the town include Tesco, Morrisons, and Aldi
