Home to the current owner since 2001, renovated and extended in 2014, The Firs is a house that provides excellent accommodation with all principal rooms overlooking magnificent gardens and having views over the surrounding countryside.

The gardens and grounds are complimented by a range of restored barns that now offer excellent storage and studio space – suitable for a variety of uses and adaptable, subject to planning consent.

The ground floor has a range of excellent reception rooms with a farmhouse kitchen dining room with Aga, sitting room, study and garden room – the latter two having doors onto the terrace.

To the rear of the house are a wet room / WC, pantry, and utility room. On the first floor are five double bedrooms, a bathroom and one en suite.

The second floor is accessed via a spiral staircase and provides useful storage rooms.

Gardens, Grounds and Outbuildings
A long driveway sweeps off the lane and winds through the gardens to a parking area to the side of the house. The front has a south facing terrace with steps leading down to the lawns and gardens, all beautifully landscaped with areas including orchards, a wildlife pond and a vegetable garden with further areas of less formal gardens running to the boundaries. To the rear of the house is an area of woodland sloping down from Bucknell Hill with further banks creating an amphitheatre setting.

A set of attractive stone and timber barns were renovated to provide a studio and storage in 2006 and these are set on the side of the driveway.

The grounds extend to about 3.25 acres.

The Mynd is set below Bucknell Hill and is within South Shropshire with views out over North Herefordshire countryside. The surrounding countryside has a great network of footpaths and bridleways. The property is set within the Shropshire Hills National Landscape.

The nearby village of Bucknell has a primary school, garage and pub and a railway station that is on the Mid Wales line. The larger village of Leintwardine (5.1 miles) as well as the market towns of Ludlow (14.8 miles), Knighton (6.2 miles) and Craven Arms (9.2 miles) all provide a much wider range of facilities. The city of Hereford is 27.4 miles. (Distances and times approximate).

Directions (Postcode SY7 0BD)
Leave the A4113 and over the River Teme into Bucknell. After crossing the railway line, bear to the right and follow the road before taking the left turn into Dog Kennell Lane. As the road bends to the left, fork right signposted 'Mynd' and proceed out of the village up the hill for 0.4 before turning right signposted 'Bedstone' and go down the bank for about 0.3 miles where you will find the driveway on the left-hand side.
