If you’re the house everyone ends up at, this one’s going to make a lot of sense.

From the outside, you’d never quite guess how much space is waiting behind the front door. You’ve got off street parking, your own garage and a home that has already been modernised, but it’s when you step inside and see how the ground floor has been opened up that this one really starts to show what it’s about.

The main living space is huge. Rather than splitting everyday life between separate rooms, you’ve got one big sociable space with somewhere to cook, somewhere to sit, somewhere to eat and still plenty of room around you. The modern white kitchen sits neatly at one end, while the dining and seating areas make the rest of the room somewhere the whole family can actually spend time together.

And it keeps going.

From here you move through into the conservatory, which has become a proper second living space. Big sofas, a huge TV on the wall and doors straight out to the garden, exactly the sort of room where you can shut the door, stick a film or the football on and disappear for a couple of hours.

The garden has been designed to be enjoyed rather than become another weekend job. There’s decking for sitting out, artificial grass, outside electrical points and side access taking you back around to the front of the house.

But right at the end is probably my favourite part.

The outbuilding is massive and the current owners have turned it into their own bar and chill out space. There’s seating, a bar, drinks fridges, TV and enough room to get plenty of friends and family together. In summer, open up the wide doors and the whole thing becomes part of the garden.

And if a bar isn't your thing, that's almost missing the point.

Gym. Games room. Home office. Cinema room. Somewhere for teenagers to disappear to. A creative studio or simply your own space away from the main house. The hard part has already been done, what you do with it is completely up to you.

Back inside, there’s also a ground floor WC before heading upstairs.

The main bedroom is a really good size and has a full run of fitted wardrobes, including mirrored doors which help make an already bright room feel even bigger. Bedroom two also benefits from fitted mirrored wardrobes, while bedroom three is currently being used as a dressing room but still gives you the space for a double bed and additional furniture if you need three proper bedrooms.

Then there’s the bathroom and this isn't one that needs adding to the future jobs list. It’s been completely modernised with large marble effect tiling, a contemporary white suite, rainfall shower over the bath and a mirrored wall that finishes the room brilliantly.

And then there’s the location, because day to day life here is surprisingly easy.

Danbury Crescent itself feels tucked away from the main roads rather than being somewhere cars are constantly cutting through, but you don’t have to go far at all for what you need. You’ve got Greggs, Lidl, Tesco Express, local shops and other everyday amenities all around 0.4 miles from the house, so whether it’s the weekly shop or more importantly a Saturday morning treat, you can leave the car at home.

For families, there are several schools close by, with Holy Cross Catholic Primary around 300 metres away, Shaw Primary around 400 metres and Somers Heath Primary around 600 metres, while Harris Academy Ockendon is approximately 1.1km away.

There’s plenty of green space around you too. Hangmans Park and Cruick Avenue Park are both around 0.3 miles away, with Dilkes Park around 0.4 miles away, while Belhus Woods Country Park gives you a much bigger open space when you fancy getting properly outdoors.

And when you need to go further, South Ockendon station gives you the c2c route towards London, there are bus stops within the surrounding roads and you're well placed for the A13, M25 and Lakeside.

So you've got a home that feels tucked away when you're in it, but schools, parks, shops, transport and even your morning Greggs are all close enough to make everyday life that little bit easier.

What I like most about this home is that the owners haven't just modernised it, they've made the space work for how people actually live.

Family dinners around the table. Everyone together downstairs without being on top of each other. Summer evenings with the garden open. Friends round for drinks in the bar. Somewhere to watch the football without taking over the house.

There’s a lot more here than you'd expect from the front.

And with no onward chain, the next people making those memories could be you.
