About this property
Communal garden
Lovely and light double-glazed two double bedroom apartment of 680 square feet, on the fourth floor of a purpose-built block with a wraparound communal garden with a dedicated 'grow your own' area for residents.
Such a leafy spot - they don’t call it ‘Forest Hill’ for nothin’! - just a four minute trot from Forest Hill Station and its friendly town centre.
In your own front door and there is a built-in hall cupboard to your left. Perfect for coats and cleaning paraphernalia. The door next to the cupboard opens into your big reception room of over 18 feet by 11 feet. There is pleasingly plenty of space for zoning dining and seating areas, and the westerly orientation of the room ensures great afternoon light (you have a window plus double-doors/Juliet balcony here).
It is across the hall for your independent kitchen, with plumbing for your washing machine. As throughout the flat you have elevated far-reaching views.
Your recently-renovated (and windowed) shower room rests next door. This is contemporary in style with cool terrazzo floor tiling, smart square wall tiling, and under-basin storage. Opposite the bathroom you have a second hall cupboard which is a natural linen and towel store.
Next to this you access your principal bedroom. This is over 11 feet by nearly 12 feet. A second double is next door and concludes our property tour. This is over 11 feet by over 9 feet, with a built-in wardrobe.
What a pad and what a position! Forest Hill Station (Fare Zone 3) gives you regular rail and Windrush line services so all commutes or social plans are an utter cinch. There are loads of useful bus routes into and out of London town, too.
Our favourite local green spaces are Horniman Gardens (check out the museum plus snazzy new cafe here, too!) and Mayow Park. Devonshire Road Nature Reserve is fab, too. Venture a little further for others like Crystal Palace Park, Hilly Fields and Dulwich Park.
Forest Hill has a buzzy and friendly centre, with a good modern leisure centre with retained Victorian façade, a large Sainsbury’s store, and loads of pleasing independent offerings; including a butcher/deli and lots of cafes (the best of these is St David Coffee House).
Your local pub: The Foresters Arms (Fauna Brewing) is under fairly new management and is proving popular. The Sylvan Post is a local quirky real ale place with good food in an old Post Office, on Dartmouth Road. Big Cheeks Thai also comes recommended, and there are some cute places (like The Moustache and Journey Cafe) in nearby Upper Sydenham (by the Kirkdale roundabout).
East Dulwich's Lordship Lane, Peckham and Camberwell are all also easily reached for more options.
