    Kilmington village and civil parish includes the hamlets of Kilmington Common and Norton Ferris, and lies on the northern edge of the ancient Selwood Forest. The pub is at the foot of White Sheet Hill, also owned by the National Trust. White Sheet Lane, which runs parallel to the pub, leads to the hill’s car park. Notable local attractions are Stourhead Estate & Gardens, the Newt Somerset and Longleat Safari Park & Estate. There are a variety of popular walking routes nearby, including White Sheet Hill and Mere Downs.
